Background

There is simply not enough talent to go around and therefore a strategy of recruiting talent is both expensive, as well as possibly even futile. The answer lies in the corporate development of internal talent, and it is precisely this challenge which faces organisations today.

While many organisations are adept at internal functional training, few have the internal resources to be able to provide development in broader terms and at higher NQF levels, say NQF 5 and 6.

Unique People Solutions (UPS), in conjunction with Southern Business School (SBS) are proud to offer a corporate Management Development Programme (MDP) and a corporate Human Resource Development Programme (HRDP), both of which are accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and recorded on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Southern Business School is registered with the Department of Education as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act of 1997 and is recognised as one of South Africa's leading private higher education institutions.

Programme Overview

Both the MDP as well as the HRDP lead to the following registered and accredited qualifications:

  • Certificate in Management – 120 Credits NQF 5;
  • Diploma in Management – 360 Credits NQF 6;
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) – 360 Credits NQF 6

The Certificate programme is a 1 year programme while both the Diploma and BBA programmes are 3 year programmes. The difference between the MDP and the HRDP lies in the chosen curriculum as HR Practitioners will, in addition to Management Practice, complete programmes in both Human Resource Management as well as HR Business Partnering.

Our action learning model ensures that the programmes are practically oriented and delegates are expected to complete supervised projects which add value to both delegates, as well as the organisation. The programmes are extremely flexible and apart from being customised to client requirements are presented onsite at client's premises thus reducing costs as well as facilitating programme attendance. Minimum group size is 10 delegates and frequency, duration, as well as curriculum are driven by client needs.
