Short Courses

Course: HR Business Partnering:
Managing Talent and the Leadership Pipeline
Target market: All mid to senior level HR Practitioners working in modern organisations.
Duration: Two day workshop

Background

In the modern business world we are living and operating in what is known as a "knowledge economy". Most, if not all main stream organisations, have realised that the competitive edge for which they all seek, is provided not by location or any of the tangible assets of days gone by, but by their people and the knowledge, skills and talent they bring to the organisation.

It was Jack Welch of General Electric fame who realised this truth and more specifically realised that talent needed to be discovered, developed and nurtured when he said "My main job was the developing of talent. I was a gardener providing water and other nourishment to our top 750 people. Of course, I had to pull out some weeds, too". There can be little doubt that the organisation with the best of talent is far more likely to succeed than the talent impoverished organisation. It is true that talent on its own will not make an organisation succeed – but it will make success a lot more likely!

This programme not only informs the HR Practitioner of what he/she has to do to source, identify, develop and retain talent in the organisation – it gives them the tools to implement talent management and shows them how to apply this knowledge in their own work environment.

This programme based on the best talent management practices of leading organisations as well as the work of Drotter, Charan and Noel and covers not only talent management as we know it, but also discusses the concept of creating and maintaining a leadership pipeline in the organisation.
